Title: Sherlock Holmes: A Study in Scarlet – Investigation Scene | High Relief Silver Coin
Description
The final physical release of the "A Study in Scarlet" reverse. This coin captures a key investigative moment from the first Holmes novel, brought to life through a combination of high-relief sculpting and advanced selective coloring.
The challenge was to maintain the clarity of multiple characters within a single, circular composition. By utilizing High Relief, we achieved a sense of depth that separates the foreground characters from the bustling Victorian street in the background, creating a nearly cinematic 3D effect.
Production & Artistic Highlights:
Selective UV Printing: A sophisticated coloring technique was applied to the characters' clothing (like Holmes's iconic checkered coat) and the police uniforms. The muted, vintage color palette was chosen to complement the antique silver finish without overpowering the metal's natural luster.
Textural Contrast: Notice the intricate details on the cobblestone street and the ornate architectural pillar on the left. These elements provide a rich, tactile experience characteristic of premium numismatics.
Antique Finish: The coin underwent a specialized oxidation process to darken the recessed areas, which pushes the highlighted, colored figures forward, enhancing the storytelling.
Technical Details:
Composition: Multi-figure narrative scene.
Finish: Antique Finish with Selective Digital Printing.
Series: Sherlock Holmes Official Collection.
